Of course, the surrounding area also has its charms. For example, if you drive through the picturesque parkland of the green Ammerland , you can visit the nearby Bad Zwischenahn on the Zwischenahner Meer, which is not only famous for its smoked eels and the casino. Especially worth seeing is also “The Park of Gardens” – the garden show in Bad Zwischenahn. A special park with varied series of events that revolves around the garden culture every year.
Other destinations for day trips include North Sea coast with cities such as Jever, Emden, Leer, Greetsiel, which East Frisian islands such as Norderney, but also major cities such as Bremen with the Bremen city musicians at the historic town hall, the Schnoor district and Böttcherstraße, Bremerhaven with the emigration and climate house, Wilhelmshaven with the new Jade Weser-Port and not to mention our nearby neighbour, the Netherlands, with its beautiful city Groningen.
